Chapter 15 – Land Use The Marianas Public Land Authority provides information on land use in the CNMI. The data include land areas, elevations, and distances from Saipan. The data also include land use. Saipan is the largest island, at 46.5 square miles, followed by Tinian at 39.2 square miles, and Rota at 32.8 square miles. The highest point in the CNMI is on Agrihan, at 3,200 feet. About 5,700 of the 12,300 hec-tares (about 46 percent) of the land is private lands. Data on annual homesteads, land exchanges, permits and commercial leases is not current, and will up-dated when new information becomes available.
